Our rates and policies are determined by a Business Model for Sustainability that balances the relative market cost of our programs with the costs of: legitimate and competitive business practices, time spent in the field and in the office, professional AMGA training and certification for our career guides, comprehensive liability insurance, legal permitting on federally managed lands, a living wage for our full-time working guides and a positive contribution to the sport and tourism industry in our small mountain community.

Private Guiding rates (2011 season, US$)

• 1:2 $350 ($175 pp)
• 1:3 $450 ($150 pp)
• 1:4 $440 ($110 pp)

Half-Days are available by request (8:30 am-12:30pm OR 1:00-5:00pm):

• 1:1 $150
• 1:2 $240 ($120 pp)
• 1:3 $270 ($90 pp)
• 1:4 $300 ($75 pp)

Five-Day Packages - Pay up front and save $25/person/day on our daily 1:1 rate with a 5 day pass- climb or ski for an intensive full week or spread out your days on rock, ice and snow over the course of a full year.

• 1:3 - $1875 ($625 pp)
• 1:4 - $2000 ($500 pp)

Backcountry and Alpine Climbs. Backcountry climbs, alpine and ski mountaineering objectives (in the Adirondacks and beyond) that require an alpine start and extended day or a multi-day camp:

• 1:1 $350
• 2:1 $500 ($250 per person)
• 3:1 $600 ($200 per person)
• 4:1 $700 ($175 per person)

 

Custom Group Climbing Programs  are offered at the rate of $110 per person, with a maximum enrollment of up to six participants per guide. Larger groups will be assigned an additional guide and may be subdivided into smaller subgroups to utilize separate locations.

Cloudsplitter Expeditions are offered on a per-trip basis, usually with a per-day fee that is priced on a 'cost plus expenses' basis: the per-diem guide's rate plus a pro-rated share of the necessary travel, logistics and permitting expenses. When possible, Cloudsplitter may suggest compatible partners to share the expedition with. Contact us for details.

 

*Due to scheduling demands, all programs require advance reservation and a non-refundable 50% per person, per-day minimum deposit. In the event of cancellation or conflict- with a minimum of four weeks advance notice, a refund or credit may be given (at Cloudsplitter's discretion.)
