Early season ice and mixed climbing

grayp1powerplay.jpg

Gray about to commit to the Power Play pitch 1 pillar.

After a few cycles into and back out of winter, it looks like the cold is here to stay. As climbers and skiers, we're all about making the best use of current conditions. Early winter is often the best time for ice and mixed climbing- the fresh ice is relatively forgiving, there's not too much snow on the approaches, and everyone has that early season fever. (I'm convinced that ice climbing is one of the best antidotes out there for Seasonal Affective Disorder and that third helping I packed in at Thanksgiving dinner.)

The holiday rush will be here before you know it, followed soon by the Mountaineer's annual Adirondack International Mountainfest in mid-January.

If you're thinking about making the most of your climbing time with a full value day on multi-pitch ice- over the holidays or during the Mountainfestivities- then contact us soon make a reservation soon before we get all booked up!
