Peak Fall Foliage on Wallface

Peak foliage?

These are photos from an overnight trip into Wallface Mountain last weekend with Jason G. On the drive over and on the hike in from Tahawus, the colors were sublime. Once each season Jason gets a 'free pass' from his family and work to take a weekend to get out climbing (rock, ice or mountain) and really make the most of it. So we usually go with a big backcountry adventure. We had the classic Diagonal Route (III 5.8. 860') to ourselves and celebrated the peak of the fall season in full glory before making our way back down to dinner and a bivy near Indian Pass for the night. In the morning it was raining hard, so we loaded up on coffee, called it a day and hiked out, thankful we had such an incredible day on Saturday. Jason and I agreed on the walk out, this- all of it- is what it's all about.
