Cloudsplitter Mountain Guides does it all in the Adirondack High Peaks: ice climbing, mountaineering and backcountry skiing

If you've been checking this blog it's getting pretty obvious we haven't updated in a while....Fortunately, it's because we've been overwhelmingly busy guiding with peak of the season (pun intended) interest in the best climbing, skiing and mountaineering conditions!

It's been a varied and rewarding March, with lots of days in the mountains, and along the way we've had the opportunity to climb and ski with some great people- from as close as Saratoga Springs to as far away as Hawaii! Even as I write this today the snow and ice persists- we haven't even begun yet to get into spring conditions. If you ever wanted to climb warm plastic water-ice in April or ski peel-away corn high in the High Peaks- this will be the year to do it...when spring finally does arrive!

To catch up, below is a photo gallery of (some of) Cloudsplitter's March 2008 season: from the blessing of fresh snow and sunny skies BOTH days at our Sixth Annual Backcountry Skifest (hosted by the Mountaineer here in Keene Valley) to beautifully orange stained and incredibly dense ice on the North Side of Pitchoff, to our most recent weekends of ski mountaineering ascents and descents of Gothics Mountain's legendary northern aspects.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for a very successful first winter here at the Riverside Basecamp yurt in Keene Valley. Thanks to Cloudveil for the excellent winter apparel. Thanks to sales rep Fred Tresize and Scarpa North America for the visionary F3 AT ski touring boots. We couldn't do this without their support.

Here's to livin' the dream!
