Adirondack climbing: rock, ice and everything in-between....
With a bit of a thaw the last couple of days we've lost the ice on some of the low elevation and southern aspects. (There's still plenty of great plastic ice climbing up in the High Peaks though). We went to Poke-O on Thursday to see how things were doing down in the Champlain valley...needless to say the ice needs some colder temps to freeze up and bond- but there are wet dribbles everywhere. What to do? Go mixed climbing instead- as they say ' when someone hands you lemons, make lemonade.'
