Adirondack ice climbs and backcountry ski tours: a holiday to remember!

What more can I say? It's not even the holidays yet and we've got plenty of ice to climb and unbelievable snow coverage in the backcountry. It may get a little warm and slightly wet this weekend- but that's a good thing in the long run- it will freshen up the ice and bring in even more climbs, and consolidate the base snowpack to ease our avy concerns later in the season. Surprsisingly few people around given the conditions- that will change next week. Compared to last year at this time (it was 50 degrees and sunny) it's a holiday to remember. Come and git it!

But why climb ice on a powder day? On Thursday local guide Colin L. and I got out to the Angel Slides and had a great day of skiing in the backcountry. Check out our other videos here on the site and at youtube.com
