Snow in the mountains
Giant Mountain, S Face: The Bottle and Eagle Slides
I found six inches of snow at the bottom on the Whiteface Toll Road yesterday and on the Porter Mountain Loop (Cascade Pass) today- much more up higher. Reports of skiers skinning for laps at higher elevations on Whiteface. No snow in the valley though.
Water ice is starting to form on northern aspects and the higher (relatively) terrain....people are surely out scratching around. The rain and wet now was helpful. Colder temps the next couple of nights (and moderate day temps) should keep it growing...
