Yanlong & Rebecca's first day on rock

Yanlong and Rebecca recently came up from Delaware to go rock climbing for the first time and see what the Adirondacks are all about. We had a big day: top-roping and learning the basics at King Philip's Spring Wall in the morning and an afternoon cruise up four pitches (5.5-5.7) on Chapel Pond Slab's Regular Route. It's a big day for a novice climber, but they loved the exposure to the full climbing experience and the practical and repititous application of skills on a multi-pitch climb.

'As you put it, fear teaches us how to avoid danger and be very
careful. But you also taught us not to be afraid.' - Y.L.

That's exactly the advantage Cloudsplitter guides offers- personable and skilled professional guiding to make the most of our guests' experiences.

The foliage continues to be amazing, despite the recent slide into more typical cool and wet weather. It snowed above 3000' last weekend, while the Champlain Valley has yet to reach peak foliage. There's still some rock climbing to be done on nice days here, but winter is coming.
