He's hooked!
We met Jason G. last year when he came up from Albany to finally see what rock climbing is all about. We spent a couple of days top-roping and learning the basics. He's hooked now! Jason came back this year looking to step it up with some longer multi-pitch rock routes. Our first day it rained pretty hard in the morning, which seemd to scare everyone away. We're both into climbing outside as long as it's not ridiculous, so we started up Chapel Pond Slab in rain gear but quickly shed our layers as it cleared up and had both the Cave Route in the morning and the Weissner Route up on the Washbowl in the afternoon all to ourselves. The next day was stellar. We toured the cracks at Pitchoff Chimney Cliff and Jason was cruising- we climbed the Disputed, Pete's Farewell, and the El before heading to the Beer Walls for Fast & Furious and a cool down on the Sword and Afternoon Delight- and it's only his fourth day out! Just wait until he gets some ice tools in his hands....
