The Keene Valley region is one of the most accessible communities in the country for traditional rock and ice climbing, yet still maintains a uniquely rural North Country character. The Adirondacks were one of the first regions of the country to be preserved for it's wild and rugged natural resources.

The High Peaks and Lake Champlain regions offer satisfying climbing and mountaineering objectives for all abilities. Combined with alpine style village and resort accomodations in the local communities around Keene Valley, Lake Placid and Wilmington/Whiteface, the Adirondacks remain a unique and rewarding adventure destination for climbers from all over the world.

Our basecamp for operations is located in the Mountaineer's Riverside Garage (just down the street from the Mountaineer's primary retail store) in 'the heart of the High Peaks' at the west end of Rt. 73 in Keene Valley, NY.

The Mountaineer is a legendary community mountain shop and has been the region‘s leading outdoor retailer since 1975- mountaineer.com

At the Riverside Garage we share frontage on an open grassy field and the banks of the East Branch of the Ausable River.  A variety of shops, lodges and restaurants are within walking distance down Main Street.

...and when it's hot in the summertime and the swimmin' is easy- the East branch of the famous Ausable River is right out the back door and Chapel Pond is right up the road!
